Great multi-purpose camping/survival gear.
For the price this UST BASE Tube Tarp 1.0 is a great deal. It seems to be some type of ripstop outer shell with an aluminized layer inside that feels like it will be durable, if that's any measure. The couple times I've used it so far it's held up just great. It packs down to a manageable 15"L x 4"round & it fits without too much effort back into the included storage sack. Weighs about 28oz.
I would mention that if it's going to be used as a tarp you should try to pitch it so that the seams run with the slope not against it or they will be more liable to catch any rain runoff and develop leaks. This is because where each bend would be when in a tent formation is a seam that forms an external flap that runs the length of the seam which is what the loops for stakes and guy lines are attached to. If it's used as a tarp those seams should run along with the slope so that they don't impede water flow or else they will be more likely to allow seepage through the stitching. If your primary use for this product is to be used as a tarp then it might benefit you to apply a bit of tent/tarp seam sealer in advance.
