This was going to replace my Sony Ericsson Arc (LT15i) - The Arc replaced my X10 and it was a fantastic upgrade - so I expected something similar from the Arc to Xperia S, but it is falling short of what I expected... This is not a review of the phone but a comparison of the Arc and S: Holdability/One Hand Use: Arc is better to hold and use the thumb for navigate etc, whilst the Xperia S I cannot use one hand & thumb to operate. For example, Resuming the phone : Arc can resume on either pressing the power button, or the home button - I can use my thumb to hit the home button easily on the Arc, whilst the Xperia S you can only resume on hitting the power button = at the top of the phone!? Battery Life: Usage = both with me, no calls, no browsing, no bluetooth, but Wifi=On : Xperia S often shows a 15% warning by bed time, Arc = more than 50% by bedtime. I once did a recording test at a concert, Xperia S did not last 30 minutes, whilst the Arc recorded over 1 hour! Comparing the video output (image quality etc), they were both the same. Speed: Xperia S is quicker - deleting emails on Yahoo's app is much quicker whilst the Arc you have to wait a little bit (only a little, but it is noticeable) At the time of writing Ice Cream Sandwich is still not available for the Xperia S, a sad sad decision by some executive at Sony not to have it's flagship phone have the latest Android OS ASAP, whilst they release ICS to 2011 phones (yes, I have the option to upgrade my Arc to ICS right now! - silly eh?) It's almost 6 months since they announced this phone and no ICS, whilst Samsung S3 was announced a few weeks back and it is now on sale!? Overall, I think I might sell the Xperia S and finally stop buying Sony... Sad sad Sony, start making better decisions to stop making losses every year (for the past 4 years)...Read full review
I bought this phone mainly because of the impressive camera and 32GB internal storage. I was using an Ipod touch and Blackberry and just hated having 2 devices in my pockets so I searched online for something (Not Iphone) and found this. I have had this phone for nearly 2 months now and only really have 1 complaint, the battery life. It is a daily recharge and sometimes twice a day if you are playing games or browsing the web. It can be frustrating if you have forgot to charge every night and leave it until the last minute before you leave the house before unplugging it. The upside however is that the phone takes some of the most beautiful images I have ever seen on a camera, let alone a mobile phone. The internal storage is huge and allows for a massive storage of videos, pictures and music. Web Browsing is smooth and easy as are all functions on the phone. The phone is truly an amazing piece of hardware with only one minor downside.Read full review
Ok - lets begin! My Sony Xperia S was purchased as a "used". BAD : Want to android ice cream sandwich upgrade - Sony Sony still can not upgrade it (. Battery live about 2 days. It is with WI-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth ect...Over time, a timber slightly lower panel (where the inscription Xperia). No SD card. And more - absolutely do not want be friendly with MKV files. No other complaints. GOOD : Best screen I've seen. Good front and rear camera. original design. IT`S A SONY.
It is very good and smart phone. Plenty of memory for apps, pictures, video, emails and everything else. Amazing camera, fast loading online pages, very easy to use, good battery life for online, excellent battery off line. Amazing playstore for the choice of apps and games. Hi recommended to buy on eBay, very good value. I am sure the SONY XPERIA S will be your little friend.
As a lover of Sony phones I traded the Experia Arc for this Experia S, one of the main points for me was the 12 mp camera, I use my phone camera all the time and was not disappointed by this one, due to the camera being one of my main uses i wasn't too sure at first about the internal battery as I always carry a spare with me, so far battery has been excellent and has not let me down, I have used phone and taken pictures for a full day with still battery left over.
