The Alpine SPS-610 is a two-way component car speaker that is an ideal replacement for a factory speaker system. With a depth of 2.25 inches, these car audio accessories fit into nearly any door cavity in the industry. The mounting diameter is only five inches, which makes these products versatile in most cars. When you first receive this pair of SPS-610 speakers, you'll notice the holes and cutouts along the woofers' edges. These material alterations are meant to help you during installation so that these 6.5-inch Alpine speakers can be easily added to any ride. There's no need to drill new holes because the manufacturer thought of every conceivable fastener configuration and added it to the non-enclosed speaker units. The Type-S coaxial speaker system runs off the built-in power from a factory or aftermarket head unit. There's no need to swap out wires or audio receivers because this component connects to your car through the standard wires attached to the rear of the Alpine products. Cosmetically, the Type-S speakers look good behind factory grilles. Use any open holes along the audio speaker's edges to connect standard grilles to the three-pound pair of stereo components. The grilles protect the tweeter and woofer combination with a sensitivity level of 88dB. The angle of the tweeter can be adjusted, which is a distinct design feature for door speakers. In fact, this adjustment is about 10 degrees in nearly any direction. When you're mounting these products to your car door, angle the tweeters toward your ears to get sound and frequency response between 70Hz and 22kHz. The manufacturer uses an HD polymer frame for improved sound and installation. Below the dome is a high-grade strontium magnet that contributes to advanced sound quality regardless of the type of tunes being played. The voice coil alone is 30 millimeters in diameter, which contributes to high power handling when attached to amplifiers and other enhanced electronics.These speakers produce a smooth, mellow bass, crisp and clear mid-range, and not-too-sharp treble thanks to the copper square-wiring wound up inside of the speaker's casing. A part that also contributes to the sound clarity is the butyl rubber surrounding the main woofer. This rubber supports and isolates any extraneous sounds moving through the products. Soft, silky dome materials are concentrated in the center so that the bass is felt and heard.The speaker itself is supported by a progressive Aramid fiber spider construction that separates all of the components from each other. The vibrations running through the tightly wound coils will produce a clear sound without any distortion caused by excessive reverberation. The tuned mica core that surrounds the tweeters will only offer strong bass beats that remain consistent over many years of use.Get ready for a great ride to work or on an adventure because these stock replacement products produce 80 watts of RMS power. The peak performance you'll experience out of these components is 240 watts. Outstanding replacement for Pionner TS series!!!
These were easy to install to replace the Pioneer TS series speaker in the door. WOW much better bass and musicality. I recommend these 100%. Also going with the 4 in Alpine speakers in the dash which have also had great reviews. Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. Silk dome tweeters bring out all the details in your music. Not a bad speaker to replace factory ones if you're on a budget. The only thing I didn't like is that the grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations. I have to say that I was not expecting a whole lot from any 6.5" speaker but that is what fits in my car with out cutting. I only purchased one set for the front doors. When I fired up the stereo, WOW was i impressed! What a full tonal range! I know that sound is very subjective but I believe if you have a built in EQ, you should have no trouble getting the tones you are looking for out of these speakers. I like crisp highs with just a slight bit of mids and nice tight low end. These speakers did the trick.
