Didn't work at all. At least they were cheap.
The ear plugs never actually cut out any sound at any point, no matter how much I pushed them into my ears. The more I pushed them, the smaller they got. They're just too soft. I had to go straight back to using chewed up tissue paper. Looks like the low tech solution wins out this time.
