Hultafors Classic Hunting Axe
Really well made Axe - The leather edge guard is high quality. The cutting edge is sharp, handle has a good hand feel. Personally I like the length of it, allows for different degrees of leverage , which is great for different work. It's a well balanced Axe, handle sticks out of a daysack, nevermind. Easy to use. My wife found it heavy, my 5 year old son wants to be woodsman when he's bigger. I tested it on Ash timber, it splits logs like a hot knife through butter, very little effort required, so it made light work of a fair amount of wood. Ray Mears' video on the granfors gave good recommendations on how to use an axe for splitting firewood effectively. I have a friend who owns three of the granfors; honestly there's no discernable difference between a Hultafors and a Granfors. I thoroughly recommend this Hultafors. Great value
As soon as you hold the classic hunting axe you can feel the quality. Sharp as a knife out of the box luckily it comes with an excellent mask with no popper so i feel it will wear better. Good looking, Well made, great value axe but its not just a pretty face.
