About this product

Product Information

NCAA Football 13 was developed by EA Tiburon for EA Sports and released in 2012 to positive reviews for the Xbox 360, as well as the PlayStation 3 (PS3). Building on the success of its predecessor of the previous year, NCAA Football 12, this video game introduces a number of changes, improvements and new content to bring the action closer to its real-life counterpart. Among the most significant changes are the introduction of more than 430 new catches, the removal of blind swats, and the ability to abort play action after the snap. NCAA Football 13 also benefits from 20 new quarterback dropbacks, 20 pass trajectory zones (compared to just one in NCAA Football 12), and eight quarterback in-pocket avoidance moves. There are also new pass animations, including the shovel pass, new hot routes, such as block and release or swing and zig, and different icons to indicate when a receiver is looking for the ball. As with other installments to this popular sports video games franchise, NCAA Football 13 for the Xbox 360 evokes all the pageantry of college football game days, including animated team run-outs, iconic team mascots, new trophy presentations to follow each major win, and faithful pre-game traditions. Living up to many of the same high level points of visual presentation, for which NCAA Football 12 has been praised, NCAA Football 13 also includes an ESPN ticker along the bottom of the screen to broadcast in-game points and scores. There are also studio scorecard updates from Rece Davis and audio sideline reports from Erin Andrews, along with a much-enhanced audio quality to go with them. Helping to bring the pageantry of college game days to life, are mid-game updates and improved commentary from NCAA legends Kirk Herbstreit and Brad Nessler. For the first time in the series, there is the ability to scout players while recruiting, a mode that also benefits from the addition of a dynamic grades system. Other game modes in NCAA Football 13 for the Xbox 360 include the Heisman Challenge and Road to Glory. In Heisman Challenge mode, gamers have the opportunity to play as their favorite player from a selection of Heisman Trophy national championship winners, drawing on their particular skills to match their trophy-winning performance and win for a second time. In Road to Glory, players create their own players, along with coaches, tracing each of their careers from the high school to college levels, with roles for the coach including Head Coach at the earlier stages. Everything from high school and stadium names to team colors can be customized, while online compatibility allows players to add the creations of others to their own game. NCAA Football 13 also introduced three new teams from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) to reflect real-life additions to the Western Athletic Conference and Mid-American Conference games. These are Massachusetts (UMass), Texas-San Antonio (UTSA), and Texas State. An accessible and highly playable game for fans of the NCAA Football video games series, or for anyone who follows college football in general, NCAA Football 13 is a worthy addition to any sports fan’s Xbox 360 collection. Featuring Robert Griffin III and Barry Sanders as the cover athletes, and boasting plenty of new features and gameplay improvements, along with all-new teams and players, this is one anticipated Electronic Arts sports game that lives up to expectations.

Good Place holder until the newest NCAA game

I’ve been primarily playing ncaa football 14 sporadically since college and it was feeling a little stale so I picked up NCAA 13 and I’m honestly enjoying it more. The physics engine and overall presentation in 14 is definitely better but the dynasty mode recruiting is a lot more in depth on 13 and makes it a lot more fun to run a long historic dynasty. It honestly feels like you have a lot more control over recruiting than in 14 and you’re rewarded more for being aggressive with recruits. It’s definitely a good 2nd option to 14 if dynasty mode is more your speed

Disc was unreadable for my Xbox 360.

I could not get the game to play. My Xbox 360 keep saying the disc is unreadable. I cleaned it several time and still can’t get it to play. I see a minor scratch on the disc and wonder if that’s the problem.

  • Deep Dynasty

I purchased NCAA Football 13 because NCAA Football 14 had gotten stale. NCAA 14’s dynasty is good, but outside of the Online Dynasty, the in-game dynasty has been reduced for the casual fan. This is where NCAA Football 13 truly shines. There is more in-depth redshirting both in the season and offseason, you can negative recruit other teams, have conversation topics with recruits, and face recruiting challenges which helps with the recruiting difficulty slider. The coaching contracts are also dynamic in that there are unique promises and coaching goals that must be met throughout the season. Additionally, the Heisman challenge mode adds another neat feature to a game series that prides itself on the college tradition and atmosphere. 13 may not have the physics engine that 14 has, but I found that WR’s truly track the ball in the air with their eyes and they actually jump for the ball. In 14, passing trajectories are not done as well, but they are exceptional in 13. Simply put, many things were removed or reduced in 14 to make room for the physics engine and speed up the dynast mode for players. All in all, 13 is an amazing game and I would recommend any college football fan own BOTH NCAA Football 13 and 14 to get their fix in until a new college football game is created, which could be many years from now, if ever.

  • The Forgotten NCAA

NCAA 13 is well worth the money due to the depth of recruiting and that the gameplay from 14 was first introduced in this title. There are some features such as scheduling neutral site games that are not present in this game, however, the core of what makes NCAA highly replayable exists with the depth we all remember, with critical gameplay improvements compared to previous entries. The only complaint I have about the game is that the option offense does not execute nearly as smooth as in NCAA 11, mainly due to the offensive linemen not executing their blocks the way they should. In NCAA 11, you’ll see exactly what they’ll be doing presnap (such as double teaming a DT) but in 13, you just see the usual straight line blocking that screws you. This issue to me isn’t enough to detract from the overall appeal of the game because what makes it fun still exists and was improved in this edition. Plus, if you’re missing the NCAA series, why pay hundreds of dollars for the slightly watered down final edition when you could get 13 which has everything that made the series great with some great improvements?

  • Ncaa football

While not ncaa 14 this game still delivers on everything a college football fan would love! Was a bit nervous about the disk when I initially saw it but it works great and I couldn’t be happier. It’s also not as expensive as ncaa 14 so if you are just trying to get your college football video game fix I recommend ncaa 13.

  • Great purchase

Game arrived on time, and the disc was flawless, not a single scratch or mark on it. It looked like it was brand new. The note Ameer left me was really nice as well!
