  • Theme Park.

Before we had games like the roller coaster tycoon series we had this Bullfrog classic. Theme Park puts you in the roll of the manager of your very own theme park and its down to you to balance to books, hire the staff, build the attractions, and make mad bank off the sales of food and drink all while trying to keep the park-goers happy, as happy punters are easier to part with their cash. This has been the same for every version of Theme park from the PC, to the Nintendo DS and the Jaguar port is no different, though as the game grows larger the frame rate tends to tank, though this usually happens when your running a park with over 250 people and over half the land is in use, the limitations of the hardware more then likely. The Keypad is also important with several functions of the game (like pressing 3 at the rollercoaster ride's entrance to turn on the post, something my uncle didn't know until I told him many years later!) So reading the manual is very important but it usually all boils down to putting the best ride at the front of your park and some food and drink stands by the ride's exit and make that money hand over fist! Theme park maybe a past its prime now as games like roller coaster tycoon took the idea and ran away with it with huge improvements, but its often nice to look back and pay some respect to your elders that laid the foundation for our own generation, when your done playing maybe give your grand mother a call, see how she's doing. If you are going to try Theme Park for yourself though id recommend getting the DOS version of the game from Good Old Games or the DS version if you need your gaming to be portable, I Personally just wanted this game for my slowly growing Jaguar collection and I just have a lot of nostalgia for this one even with its flaws.
