Why are quite simple pieces of plastic still relatively expensive? Usually because they have a specific function and this one does the job well. Much cheaper then the Olympus counterpart with a snug fit and good lens protection. I'd recommend this product

Relatively cheap serves purpose the quality in terms of construction is good but the fit is less than perfect and fiddly. I feel that I can recommend this product with the reservation mentioned above. Now Olympus would start providing lens hoods as every other manufacturer does it would be irrelevant.

Apparently well made and delivers as promised for the most part. The sliding action of the hood required to bring the hood into the operating position on the lens, is less than smooth however. Stiction is created between the two materials of the lens hood. A frustrating flaw.

As several other reviews say, it fits well but the sliding mechanism is very stiff unless lubricated somehow. I can't say ho durable it will be as I have only used it a couple of times so far.

Fits perfectly. Looks like the original and feels like an original lens hood. The cost is reasonable. Olympus charges outrageously for their original version.
