Never tire of watching this true life of St Bernadette.
I first saw this film at school 65 years ago and I love it as much now as I did then, a wonderful film depicting the life of St Bernadette. I already had a copy of the film but I bought a new one for one of the children who will be making her first Holy Communion at our church in a few weeks, she was showing a great interest in a picture of the grotto at Lourdes so I told her I would bring her the film.

Great But
With old films being digitally coloured now days we assumed since there was nothing said on the details that a colour picture on the front meant a colour picture in the box. Silly us, of course it didnt. We received a black and white. Otherwise excellent in every way.

Charming and impossible to forget.
It's a long film but so worth the time watching. Jennifer Jones in her first film is beautiful and she makes you believe she really is Bernadette. The story is told so well and the special effects of the lady appearing are great for a 1940's film. Yes it's religious but it shows the none believers side also.
