wonderful trackball but sadly missing rechargeability and usb

after using this, i never want to go back to regular mice again, it's comfortable, responsive and seemingly well designed. i do have a few small bugbears. it's exclusively wireless, no usb or bluetooth, also it runs on a single AA battery. not a great drawback on its own but if it packs up in the middle of the night then you have no trackball as it doesn't seem to like rechargeable batteries much. my other wireless devices have the option to plug into to ub should the charge run out, something this trackball is lacking. . i also need to keep a constant supply of lint free cloth as after a lot of use, the wheel bearings on the ball get gummed up. other than that, i do like the trackball very much.

    Double check

Firstly when I read the reviews there were reviews for trackballs and Logitech items - this is neither so take those stars with a pinch of salt - I think there is a bit of "marketing" going on here. This mouse is comfy to hold and I seem to naturally use my middle finger for using the centre wheel, which is good as I was suffering RSI from my old one on my index finger. Buttons are nice very soft touch - I like it some may not. One BIG drawback it works on a rechargable battery and you have to plug into usb port to do it, the mouse also comes with usb receiver - so that's 2 x usb ports already. The small jack where it plugs in to recharge is very poor - it keeps coming loose as it's fitted at a silly angle. How long will the charge last - no idea and you can't just get back up to full power as you can by sticking an AA battery in like a normal one. This may potentially stop you working half way through a project. It would feel better with a normal battery it would have a bit more weight. Absolutely useless if you are left handed - thankfully I'm not. Would I buy another one? no.

  • Comfortable and ergonomic

I have had a wired version of this for over 10 years and its still working well. As they are no longer available and I wanted another for a second pc, I reluctantly went for the wireless version and although there are a few slight changes its still very comfortable and easy to use. I cannot comment to the claimed battery life yet as I have only had it for a month. I am using this with a desk top and have the receiver plugged in the back of the pc, which limits the range considerably, probably works seamlessly with a laptop, but has an occasion wobble due to not having good line of sight. Still a good choice if you are looking for this type of mouse. I am sure someone will have a use for the addition buttons on the mouse but they are wasted on me, I just need a good mouse that is comfortable and easy on the hand.

  • Good alternative to a traditional mouse, if you suffer from RSI.

I'm a web developer, so I spend a lot of time in front of my mouse and keyboard. As a result I started to suffer from RSI. Trackballs alleviate these problems, but are typically lest accurate, have less features and are more unwieldy than a decent mouse. I've tried a few different trackballs and "alternative" mice (Evoluent VerticalMouse, Kensington Orbit Trackball, Mad Catz RAT Optical Gaming Mouse), but the the Logitech M570 is the one I go back to all the time. It feels like a mouse. The primary buttons, thumb buttons and scroll wheel feel just like a high-performance mouse. The thumb trackball is more-or-less as accurate as standard mouse. It's wireless and comes with a single Duracell AA battery, which lasts ages. I also find it good for gaming (Battlefield 1/4, Elite Dangerous, Black Ops III), design (GIMP) as well as different OS's (Windows 7/8/10, Ubuntu, Mint) However, as I use my one almost every day, it tends to wear out after about 12 months. So I have to order a replacement each year.

  • Too expensive but helps arthritis

Im an older user and not really very good with new things. I had a wired version of this years ago, then went to another brand which was cheaper, but both of them had wires loosen and making it intermittently work so I decided to go wireless. I think for younger people with fast fingers it would be great, but Im taking ages to adjust and keep pressing wrong part. Please note this is my fault. I am finding it easier the longer I am using it, so will eventually become a whizz. Glad I found it, and although the price was very good in comparison to other places, it still seems overly high to me. Fits my hand well though, so off I go for more practice. :-)

  • Great Mouse

Love the trackball mouse, having Arthritis it this makes my use of my computer so much easier. Its very responsive easy to use. Light weight and very programmable - well worth the money would recommend to anyone who loves the trackball mouse.

  • great trackerball

Much easier to use than a mouse. It is well designed and comfortable to use as one's hand and fingers automatically rest on the ball and switches etc. Easy to control the cursor and the cursor can be accurately placed for clicking where you wish to. Battery life seems good too. Wireless, without a cord, also makes it extremely convenient in use with no cord to get in the way. Useful storage for the usb transmitter but I tend to leave it permanently in place . This device is dearer to buy than a traditional mouse but if you are sitting with a laptop in a chair and don't get on with the onboard computer controls, then this trackerball is ideal.

  • Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Laser Track Mouse Ergonomic Design Right-hand - mostly alright but takes getting used

It's a new thing to learn. I am still getting used to using the trackball - it's difficult for tasks like copying and pasting etc but will come with practice and time, then it should be an improvement on having to endlessly move a mouse around a pad.

  • Is it? Does It?

Is it good value? Yes this one is, amazing price compared to many other outlets. Does it work? Has for me after 5 days. Took me a while to adjust my brain to its use and hold correctly. I’m in a lot less pain already from overuse of mouse. Working at home with little interruption and not sufficient breaks wrist has become sore, but of RSI. This mouse is helping a lot. Thank you for selling at an affordable price.

  • sorted out my sore hands and arms

I was getting quite tender and sore wrists, arms and shoulders form excessive use of a regular mouse. After reading online a couple of suggestions that i try a roller ball mouse i decided to give this one a go...It only took about 2 days to completely get used to the different technique and I have to say my pains have completely vanished so i am really happy and relieved. Its worth experimenting with adjusting the 'cursor speed', when i first plugged it in the cursor whizzed around like crazy and it was impossible to get any accuracy, i adjusted it to a slower setting and now its really easy to pin point. If your suffering from any kind of arm or wrist ache then i would definitely recommend trying a roller ball mouse.
