These speakers have the D’Appolito design of having the tweeters in the middle of two mid/bass drivers. This gives them a much bigger soundstage than one would expect from a small bookshelf speaker. They are detailed and the mid range is superb for voices but don’t think they don’t rock, they are punchy with the right music. If used with a small sub bass speaker this fills in the frequency gap below 55Hz so you get a huge detailed sound. The speaker casing are made of aluminium which is normally reserved for only very high end speakers. They vastly reduce vibrations if mounted on a bookshelf where they work perfectly fine.

These bookshelf speakers sound really good. Way better than I expected. I have a pair of LS3/5As which are well respected by the high end HiFi community, and the CX100s give them a run for their money. And at very much less cost. I run the CX100s with a B&O Cona sub which puts the icing on the cake.

Fantastic retro style by Jacob Jensen. As seen in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. An excellent match for my classic B&O Boecenter 7007. Solid aluminium cases make them surprisingly heavy. Designed to be the same height as an LP. Main driver foams rot and will need replacing. Fiddly job and easy to get wrong. New drivers are not available so if you spoil yours, you have a problem!

With such aged speaker, the sound quality is fantastic providing it was used/stored in a good environment. The common issue is the deteriorated main speaker foam. Its is not difficult to replace, plenty of info and videos on the web about it. Just don't expect good bass for such a small package. In terms of overall sound quality, you will need a equaliser for the complicity of current music. But if use it with something like Beocenter 2200 and listen to vinyls from the 70s/80s, its a great match. in terms of build quality, no cons at all. Just be aware the painted metal casing get scratched easily.
I love my new speakers - since I grew up in the 70s and 80s I have become a retro fan. These speakers are a very cool addition to my lounge 'stuff'.
