These Meridian speakers offer users proven audio quality. In addition to functioning as stereo speakers, the Meridian M2 main speakers are designed to work within the framework of a surround sound system, serving as front right and left speakers. The bodies of these Meridian speakers, measuring 18 cm wide by 50 cm high by 38 cm deep, allow them to house both two 110-mm bass drivers and a dome tweeter to provide stable audio quality to users. Of note to audiophiles, these stereo speakers also each possesses a 70-watt bass amplifier to improve sound quality. The Meridian M2 main speakers are each rated at 35 watts of RMS power. With a sensitivity of 105 dB, these speakers efficiently translate power into volume for a quality listening experience. compact with big sound
I've been a Meridian user for a couple of years now and the sound quality is superb, great stereo image without losing the detail. I had been hankering after some active speakers but most were out of reach price-wise. These M2 active speakers were introduced in the early 1980's so they have been around for a while, however I cannot find fault with the condition of them, apart from a few knocks and bumps on the cabinets and grilles. Three way with mid at the top, then treble then bass with a port at the bottom. Bass response is tremendous, but not at the expense of the rest of the frequency range, pure quality hi-fi. I have asked myself if the electronics (capacitors) might need an upgrade, but I am not that interested to find out, as I feel lucky to have found a bargain and am using the speakers regularly (i have them on low stands and tend to sit on the floor to listen).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
