The strength of the Gitzo tripod can also be attributed to its grooved rapid center column, which is designed to eliminate rotation and enhance stability. The Gitzo G1127 tripod measures 23 inches long when folded. This makes it readily portable and therefore ideal for backpackers and hikers. When in use, this carbon fiber tripod can be extended from a minimum operating height of 21 inches to a maximum operating height of 49 inches with its center column closed, and a maximum height of 58 inches with its center column extended. Each leg of the Gitzo tripod can be independently set at one of three leg-angle positions: 24 degrees, 55 degrees, and 90 degrees. This feature enhances the versatility of the Gitzo G1127 tripod, making it suitable for setting a camera at a variety of shooting angles.
