  • Great Budget Router

I have been using this TP-Archer C50 for about one month now. It has good wifi performance on 2.4 and 5Ghz. It has many more features than the BT Smart Hub I was using previously. The Bandwidth control is very useful if other users are hogging the service (Xbox and the like) Please be aware that you have to use this with a separate modem. I had an old Tenda router/modem which I use in Bridging Mode and works perfectly. Not had a single dropped connection unlike the BT Smart hub that was very troublesome.

  • still tplink

overall, price to value it is great, cpu is quicker than in older models, but still s... in reliability department. ive got 2 of them, the main one keeps having issues every few weeks at most. (i got constant traffic). wifi can be still at issue here, but overall better than older models. didnt test the speed as it exceeds my capacity so cant realibly test it (ive got 100mbps switches). ive got c2 which has exactly same issues, and 2 older models were in bridge for few years (upgrade to what i had, but same issues). so overall i would say, for light stuff, tp link is great. for heavy stuff, bear in mind restarting it every now and then. for stuff where you loose money if it stops working, is a big no no. ill be replacing them for something else at every crucial points. (we did had switch from them, exactly the same behavior, works with low amount of devices and traffic, but once put to the test, it fails.) just to put you some perspective.

  • Speed

Remember that lan cable sockets only gives you 100mbs not 1000...
