All about the base
Easy to use. But not so easy to determine the outcome of the test. You are looking for the blue liquid to turn green if gases are present in the coolant. The base is yellow and as we know, blue mixed with yellow makes green. A black base might make life a lot easier.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Taking out the guesswork

Fairly simple to use with clear instructions. Having calibrated it as instructed using the fumes from the exhaust, solution replaced with fresh batch and test conducted. In my case, no evidence of exhaust gasses were detected during the tests that I carried out - which I guess was good news for me as I had suspected a blown head gasket. Whilst I did as recommended, change the coolant - to be on the safe side I also emptied a whole bottle of Steelseal (from Halfords) into the radiator after I'd finished the test (just to be on the safe side). Touch wood, having replaced the sparkplugs (Halfords) and a new set of HT leads (Eurcar Parts) - car appears to be behaving as it should. For the price, excellent value and for me provided some assurance that a blown headgasket was probably not the cause of my worries.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
