Well-detailed plastic kit
Another superbly detailed Ratio plastic kit. Although these are quite old now, they are still amongst the best kits available. All the parts fit well, with minimal flash. Bogies are quite fiddly to assemble (there are a lot of parts), especially the brakes. Alternative parts are supplied to represent gas or electrically lit coach, and even a spare pair of duckets (not needed for a composite coach) which could come in handy for something else. Interior partitions are supplied but not seats (this reflects the age of the kit tooling), although unless you fit lights inside, the lack of seats isn't really noticeable. Original plastic wheels included; some Ratio kits now include Gibson wheels, but not these. Also, the buffers are now plastic mouldings rather than cast metal. Ratio's neat (if fragile) tension-lock couplings included on the bogies, or they can be made scale and fit your own choice of couplings.
