A worthwhile upgrade
This bulb is certainly very bright. I can't measure its light output but visibly it is many times more powerful than the standard incandescent bulbs it replaces. In my testing it uses just a little more power than a 2.4v 0.7A Krypton bulb, but it produces much more light. It is a very worthwhile upgrade for flashlights such as older Maglites that are good quality but not very bright due to their incandescent bulb. It also fits some other flashlights that allow for a wider bulb base - make sure the flashlight can fit a bulb with a ~11.3mm base and preferably has metal around the reflector to dissipate the heat.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Much Brighter - Pleased With The Result
Easy to fit. Made the torch (6D) much brighter, but the Maglite products line are dated, now, and boosting it with this device really means that you just have a brighter, but still outdated, torch. There are far more practical. and brighter torches. You'd be better off with modern LED torches and they're far lighter and less tedious to carry. The unit works, no mistake, and I don't regret the money spent on it. Life has move on, in torches, though...it's wise to move with that life.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

260 Lumens is enough
Torch technology has gone nuclear over the past 5 years. Torches now advertising insane numbers of lumens. This IMO is one occasion where more is not necessary. I use my 3D cell maglite for general stuff round the house from walking the dog & putting the bins out to changing light bulbs in the house. This bulb upgrade gives a really useable colour and intensity of light that is perfect for these type of jobs. The quality of the unit seems good. Transformation

Works well
Bought a 4D Xenon Maglite mistaking it for an LED Maglite, needless to say I was disappointed. Replaced the Xenon bulb holder with this LED upgrade and now my Maglite is of a similar brightness to my friend's LED Maglite. As far as I can tell the LED is sufficiently cooled to prevent it from overheating. I used this flash lite for over an hour without any problems. This product does exactly what it is intended to do for an acceptable price. Maglite brought back to life!

Couldn't believe the improvement of this LED over the old bulb. My battery power had been rather low, and the light was quite dim, so I was expecting to have to change the batteries as well. light in the tunnel
Wasn't expecting much from a single LED unit but this is quite impressive. When I opened the box (well packed for transit) bulb appeared large, much larger than the one it was replacing. change took just few seconds and everything works great. My main issue with normal bulbs is that they are prone to damage if the torch is dropped- no issues here. I'd estimate that the beam of light easily covers 300 meter distance- more than enough for my needs. Nice upgrade
This bulb is a nice upgrade for my old maglite which was languishing in a drawer due to new torches being a lot more powerful than the old mag bulb. But you can't beat a maglite for build quality which has a reassuring heft to it.
