Great product.
I had bought cheap Flagstaff Chinese generic batteries online with disastrous results. Two batteries exploded in the chargers, destroying the batteries and chargers, spraying molten plastic over a large area. Had I not been on site, the house could have gone up. Good performance as expected, though charger is bulky and only 1yr warranty
Bought from FFX, all is genuine Makita. The batteries that came with mine seem to be date-coded within the last year, too. Faster than my previous charger, it will charge two 5.0ah batteries in about 45mins. They don't get too warm in the process, presumably the charger's fans are worthwhile in helping with that. So, happy with the items and performance, which are exactly as expected. There are some minor niggles. The charger is really quite bulky to carry around, especially when more than one is needed (the lumpy shapes don't really help). The twin fans running in tandem are also quite loud if used in quiet office or home situations, and I worry how well they'll work in dusty environments over time. Makita also categorise chargers only as accessories, and so won't extend their warranty online beyond 1year (unlike most tools, which get 3yrs). Even the more expensive ones, bought as separate items, like this; for me that degree of confidence is a little underwhelming for a charging tool of significant price. The batteries (which by their nature are essentially consumable) also get only a year of course, but there Makita will still at least assess them outside the 1st year.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
