atmospheric
I remember watching this TV programme years ago when I was a child, I loved the characters and the setting - the land of the midnight sun. It intrigued me so much that I wanted very much to travel to Norway, and I've now been there three times once I was old enough and could afford to travel. This is a story for small children, though, so I intend to give it to a friend's grandson at Christmas. Delightful, engaging nostalgia.......
You have to be a fan bringing back your nostalgic youth to appreciate the simplicity and such innocent engaging stories with the haunting music and the voices of wonderful Oliver Postgate and Ronnie Stevens, as well as the simple effective animation, so far removed from todays digital images, it just wouldn't lend to this and would ruin the whole aspect of these delightful sagas. Considering the age of the material on the dvd transferred from film, the picture quality and sound was outstanding and the booklet that accompanied this dvd was very informative and well presented.
