Koss SportaPro headphones
The headphones are certainly excellent value for money. Pros: a) Good sound quality (in particular, deep basses) b) Excellent volume c) The cable is adequately long Cons: a) The basses are too strong for my taste. To overcome this I use equalizer settings which attenuate the basses and the result is quite reasonable. b) The adjustable strap is somewhat small for my head. Big sound, light weight.
I bought about three different pairs of phones for working out, trying to find a good one, after reading various articles. Of them all, these deliver the best sound, overall volume and BASS. They are comfortable and surprisingly less obtrusive than even in-ears. I love these and have used them for years. they do die about 3-5 years of use, but that's fine for the cost. not convenient for Behind-The-Neck, but sound quality is good
I'l fairly old model, and it's still good due to very clear sound (you'll be able to read growl song in them, and distinguish between 192 kbps and 320 kbps MP3). Frequency response is flat too, so you can listen any music genre and style and tune anything on your taste with equalizer if you so desire, but there are some models which are marginally but noticeably better (KSC-75, KTX pro1). They do not take much space, but can't be folded to "flat", so don't put it without hard box into luggage or backpack. You can wear them on your neck/shoulders anytime though, so it's not big deal. I didn't use them long enough yet, but different sources say these headphones live long. Headband is basically steel strip, it'll be hard to break without intention. Overall, I'd say reliability is fair. One problem with them is that when Headband is in "neck" position, they don't hold well. Also, due to earpieces construction and position of the band, sunglasses and some bike helmets will interfere. So I put comfort to cons.
