Not for listening to music, but for accurately monitoring recordings. The frequency response is as flat as possible, ensuring you are hearing what you recorded with no added low end. However, I still listen to music with them and they suit the purpose perfectly. Overall a solid, classic design. Does exactly what it claims. The only flaw is one that can be avoided - don't rip them off your head and clap the cans together or the foam from the earpieces will wear out and become disconnected from the glue holding them to the cans, and you'll have to reglue them after trying to precisely fit it back. Just be responsible and they will take care of you for many years. I swear by them to the point that I've bought them 3 times, and keep the boxes in my mic cabinet.

These sound amazing, and work really well! Used them for a few years so far, until our audio partners bought their own from the states and I found out that mine are not quite original. The problems? 1: Left and right are inverted 2. The cable is a bit too tough. The original ones have a really lighter cable. Otherwise, they sound great and I use them in studio. Can't tell the difference between these and the original

Incredibly comfortable, been able to wear these for hours at a time. Don't expect incredible music quality from these, they are definitely intended for monitoring. Highs, mids, and lows are all balanced in order to give you a good perspective on your audio quality. If you are intending to purchase these for just listening to music, don't expect an incredible low end or bassy response. For listening to podcasts or something that doesn't rely on a strong low end, these are great. With how relatively easy these are to power as well (63 ohms), I've been able to plug them into my phone and listen to podcasts or audio books while cooking, especially with how long the cord is! Would definitely recommend if you're needing to fulfill a particular niche. If you're looking for a pair of headphones for just listening to music, I'd probably pass on these. If you do a mix of audio/video production AND also want to listen to some music, would definitely recommend these. For the price, can't beat their performance.Read full review

Lives up to my expectations. Good bass. A bit glossy at the top end, compared to European phones, but not brassy. The feed wire on L.S. is loose and exposes 3mm copper at the back panel. I am worried about this and will have to check the warranty. The main wire is pro quality however. A 16 yr old listened to his rap music and proclaimed DRe's better, but we were unable to make a direct comparison. For my purposes (acoustic, classical, jazz, electronic-techno) these are ery good all around phones.

Excellent sounding headphones. Almost as good sounding as my Beyerdynamic DT770s at a fraction of the price. The bass response isn't quite as good, but no headphone compares to the Beyers in low frequencies. My main complaint is the wretched, olid, vaporous, terrible off-gassing of the tacky vinyl ear pads. It's so bad that when you wear the headphones you can smell it at all times. Sticking the headphones on your head is like putting your head in a bag full of smoke from a burning car tire. I thought "oh they're new it'll just take them a few days of airing out and it'll go away," but it's had some amazing staying power. I'm sure that these were worse than some, as I've known many people to use these headphones over the years and have never heard similar complaints. Luckily I found a link online to order a set of Beyerdynamic replacement velour ear pads that fit the MDR-7506. Those are on the way and not only will they hopefully fix the off-gassing problem, but they'll be a lot nicer on the skin ala the velour. Once I factor in the cost of the replacement ear pads they're not quite the steal they were, but still a fraction of what the Beyers cost, and much more portable with the collapsing hinges and the coiled telephone style cord. I will most likely buy another pair to have around for other musicians.Read full review
