About this product

Product Information

Get serious about enjoying music when listening to your favorite songs with the Sennheiser HD 380 PRO headphones. The headband and pivots have flexibility, making them comfortable and durable. The circumaural design of the cushioned, closed-back earpieces makes these comfortable for extended use. This design passively reduces ambient noise simply by being fitted around the ear properly, which delivers an immersive listening experience. As they keep ambient noise out of your audio experience, they will also keep the sound in your ear. Listen in libraries, studios, coffee shops, and quiet places without bothering your fellow humans. They weigh just under 8 ounces. The padded earpieces are covered in a breathable synthetic material that reduces heat over long, uninterrupted use. The headband is adjustable, and the firm pivots keep the unit snugly on your head without putting too much pressure in any one area. The lightweight features reduce wearing fatigue, making them perfect for studio sessions, long flights, watching movies, gaming, and enjoying music wherever you are. These professional monitoring headphones boast a wide frequency response range, capable of sound reproduction from 8 Hz to 27,000 Hz. From deep bass to crisp treble, this is the full spectrum of what the human auditory system can pick up. This range, the Duofol diaphragms, and ultra-low distortion ensure that the user will hear those songs exactly as the musicians intended. To store these Sennheiser headphones, simply rotate the earpieces into the padded headband. The lay-flat structure then fits snugly in the hard-backed carry case. The inside of the case is fitted with raised seats made to support the earpiece cushions. This will take the pressure off the cushions and increase their lifespan. There is also a clear impression diagram to help you fit the HD 380 properly into the space. The case has a handle on the top, making it easily portable. The removable coiled cable, which is about 3 feet long, connects to the left earpiece and snaps in to avoid damage if the cord is yanked on. The coiled structure also contributes to durability. If the cord does break, you can replace it without having to replace the whole headphone setup. The HD380 model is compatible with any mobile devices, gaming consoles, televisions, and computers that have the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. With limited impedance, these 54-ohm headphones are suitable for everyday long wear. Not just for casual audio and video playback, these Sennheiser brand headphones can be used for professional sound work. In addition to the standard connection cable, these Sennheiser headphones also include a 6.3 mm gold-plated jack adapter for studio equipment. This accessory screws on over the 3.5 mm connector, making for greater diversity in connectivity options. Plug into amps, studio monitors, recording equipment, mixing boards, digital systems, and other gear. The frequency range and premium sound quality these Sennheiser HD380s offer are ideal for editing audio and video files. Spend hours immersed in your creation, adjusting sound and effect levels to ensure maximum enjoyment. These accessories are also comfortable and portable enough to be worn for casual use. Their ability to cancel noise makes them ideal for use in loud or quiet environments alike.

    Great for tracking instruments

These reject noise around you and give you a pretty accurate (flat) signal (not enhanced or bass boosted). They're durable and loud as hell. Great for tracking guitar, bass, keyboards. They don't reject enough room sound to use for loud drum tracking. Turning them up super loud works if you don't have any mellow sections. Otherwise, click-tracks & guitars will bleed into your mics. I even use them for rough mixes if need be.

    Nothing pro about them.

The shape does not permit total isolation. Flimsy construction. Awkward construction of the storage case. Though good sound coming from the headset. They leaked. I have been wearing headphones for 44 years. If you want them for listening fine. If you need them for recording think twice. I have my pair away.

  • Awesomnest headphones ever!

For studio recording and mixdowns, the best there is. Way wide freq range and flat eq like studio cans are supposed to be. As far as the reviewers that note the bass end being weak, please be aware that these are PRO headphones, and for recording and mixdowns, you need high definition audio without coloration from heavily accentuated bass. Best spend your bucks on some consumer grade 'phones, or turn the bass up on your source. These are going for killer deal prices on eBay, so get em while you can.

  • Great headphones for listening or mixing

I bought these headphones to listen to music and mix my own band's tracks. They do have a good bit of mid range but I actually appreciate that. These are full spectrum headphones and are excellent for general music listening or mixing. Although they provide ample noise isolation, I would not suggest them for monitor headphones in a loud band setting. They would be fine for lower volume situations such as an acoustic set or overdubbing vocals. However I found that standing next to our drummer did not adequately isolate everything. So for those situations, I still use my in ear monitors. Awesome headphones, best bang for the buck. I own the 280's and these are much more comfortable and sound "brighter" with that clearer midrange coverage.

  • Best headphones for mixing or listening

Being on a tight budget, I wanted to get the best for the lowest. In my opinion, the HD380 was just what I was looking for. Whether plugged into my board, DAW or directly from the keyboard, the sound is quite good. I exclusively do studio work (no live performance) and have not had any issues with these phones. They are sturdy and comfortable and have great sound - better than I expected. Quality made. With the case that they fold into, it is easy to carry them where I go. I'm overall very impressed with them.

  • Working great. (compare to 280 pro's)

This is a pair of Sennheiser HD380 Pro headphones in "Good" (used) condition. Minor scuffs in a couple places (actually not noticeable unless you're looking for them) but they appear to be in solid, working order. To be clear, I am not a audio professional, nor am I really qualified to evaluate audio devices. I listen to wide variety of music and play a mix of casual and competitive PC games, and do the occasional Reason/Ableton audio stuff when I'm feeling inspired. They sound a little more "flat" frequency-wise than the HD 280's (which are more "flattering" to music) which makes them better for audio production. This also means they are less bass-heavy than the 280s. The "soundstage" is pretty comparable to the 280's IMO. They are not noise-canceling but isolate the listener quite well. They are also very comfortable, and I can wear them for hours upon hours without discomfort (the HD 280's tend to pinch around my ears after wearing them for a few hours). Honestly one of the most ergonomic, solid feeling headphones, and they cling to your head nicely, and won't fall or slide if you tilt your head. The only thing you'll need if you get these USED is the detachable cable, which you should be able to nab for $15-20. So overall, should be under $75 for the used headphones + cable, which is kind of a great deal.

  • Comfortable headphones with good sound isolation

I'm a musician and a band I work with rehearses with everything direct -- except the drums! Needed monitors that would block out enough drums and be comfortable for 2 hour rehearsals. These definitely sound good and block enough ambient noise that I don't have to crank them to unreasonable levels. I compared them with my 18 year old Sony MDR-7506 headphones, which were up till now my favorite studio headphones. The Sennheisers have more of everything and are even a little more comfortable. Would buy again without hesitation.

  • Refurbished Great Deal

These are very comfortable and can be used a very long time.. You do have to get used to putting them on because of the angled ergonomic fit. I would like the choice to have a straight cord instead of just coiled so they would not always be pulling.

  • Excellent linear headphones

Comfortable, travel well, detachable curled cord. Linear response, don't expect Beats type base. Great for mixing audio or listening to music.

  • Large enough for my big ears

I have big ears and have a hard time finding headphones that will fit them. Well these fit the bill, and of course the sound is amazing. A bit warm on the ears over time but all is forgiven when you listen to the sound. As always these deliver as any higher end sennheiser headphone. Nice storage case and nice heavy coiled cord. Overall one of my favorites and especially when it comes to keeping out some ambient noise.
