  • As in depth and wide ranging as you would expect a 15 hour documentary to be.

As in depth and wide ranging as you would expect a 15 hour documentary to be. Covers it all, from the Lumber bros first experiments right through to the digital/multiplex era and beyond. It takes a while to get going and some of the metaphors are a little strained at times. Plus the footage shot by Mark Cousins himself could have been a bit slicker. However, this is more comprehensive than anything else I've seen. Required watching for film fans.

  • Must see for cinema lovers.

History of world cinema informatively and entertainingly told by the excellent Cousins. Covers inception of the film industry and its evolution right through to today. It does this by not just looking at mainstream Hollywood but what cinema from around the world contributed to The Story of Film.
