    A MacMillan rarity

    This is a disc of works by James MacMillan, whose output largely reflects his Catholic faith. Such a rarity, then, for him to set a Jewish text to music. The piece is challenging to listen to. The main problem for the disc is the remainder of the music. It's not just "filler", but Black Box were clearly struggling to find complementary pieces for the programme (a problem with many of their releases in the early 2000s).
