It is placed between the camera and the actual lens to increase magnification. In the case of this Kenko camera lens for Canon, it is a 1.4x teleconverter lens capable of enhancing the focus lens. For a 200 mm lens, the Kenko PRO 300 lens will turn it into a 280mm lens. This product works best with lens greater than 50mm to give optimal zooming advantages to the camera. All of Kenko’s teleconverter lens has Gate Array Integrated Circuitry that allows the lens to operate in the exact same way as the manufacturer’s converter for optimal lighting conditions. Very happy with the quality of the images
