    Bargain of the year !

When my 30 year old Exercise bike died on me last year I was at a loss with what to replace it with. There were so many different types to choose from! I chose the Elev-8 for the following reasons. It was a Spin Bike, had lots of positive reviews and lastly, it was heavily discounted for a bike of real pedigree. On arrival its weight surprised me and it was a bit of an effort to get the main part to my Gym, in the attic. However, the weight makes the whole bike very stable and solid and its a joy to get on every morning for a 20 - 30 minute session. It was also very easy to assemble, simple but comprehensive instructions. The digital read out appears very accurate and the brake is close to hand and effective if you need to stop the fly wheel in a hurry. All in all, I would recommend this Bike to anyone. Its just what I wanted.

  • Most critical review

Good value for money as long as you are shorter than 5'9.

The bicycle works, but the size of the frame has been reduced to the absolute minimum to keep costs down. 1. According to the suppliers it is deigned for users up to 6', but at 5'9" it is not possible to raise the seat height sufficiently. I sent images to the supplier to show this. I have now modified the design by adding a length of 40mm square tube to the seat slider, turning the 40mm slider into 80mmx40mm, and by using a gel seat cover. These gave an additional 60mm height which is still not right for me, but works. 2. The pedals go too near to the floor and can only be used with the foot grip side, or they will scrape on the floor. Now I have modified it, I am able to use it daily, but not everyone will know how to safely increase ride height. The seat tube is 60mm too short, and the handlebar tube is short by the same amount.

  • For the price this is a decent, well made, sturdy bike for home use

I bought this bike so I could do Les Mills on Demand RPM and SPRINT classes at home, and it is fine for home use, but I would not suggest using this bike in a commercial setting. The bike is easy to put together, and quiet when used, with just about enough adjustment in the tension setting to get a good workout (although if you're very fit and/or pretty strong the highest setting may not be enough when doing slower hill climbs - but I guess you could always do a sprint hill climb instead, and/or increase the time!). I'm 5ft 9" and need to have the saddle on a low setting meaning there is plenty of room to adjust the height for taller people. Like a few others, I have changed the saddle to one that is far more comfortable, and as I wear cycle shoes, I've also changed the pedals to accommodate SPD cleats. (I find the foot cage to be uncomfortable when standing on the bike, and there is too much opportunity for knees/toes/ankles to move in comparison to using cleats, and clipping onto the peddles). I removed the bottle holder as it just got in the way getting on and off the bike, but as I have a table next to the bike, it's not an issue. I didn't spend a fortune on the new saddle and peddles, and looking around at other spin bikes, I would still have needed to pay more to get a new bike kitted out with everything I now have. All in all, for the price this is a decent, well made, sturdy bike for home use.

  • Does the job

Great bike for the price. Does the job. Easy to assemble. Good weight so doesn’t rock around. Heavy flywheel provides good workout and smooth quiet ride. I am only small and 5ft tall so can’t really comment on size for taller people. Seat and handle bars are both adjustable. Not the comfiest seat but I’ve read reviews where people have opted to change it for a comfier one. I use it indoors in poor weather sometimes whilst watching tv or I take it into the garden in good weather. Gets daily use so is great just what I wanted it for.

  • Fantastic well built spin bike

I love this product. I was dubious when I ordered it and concerned that quality and price may mean I would end up with something that was inferior to my expectation. However happy to report it is excellent. Really easy to put together, sturdy and well built. Only thing I don't like is that the reset on the clock is a bit hit and miss but apart from that I am thrilled with it.

  • Better than expected

This was bought initially for my other half. She was a frequent visitor to spin classes at various big name gym's but more recently due to time just can't make them. She is only 5ft so some bikes are not suitable. She is delighted with this bike, we have only had it a few weeks but so far the bike is great. My son has also stated to use it. He is 5ft 9 and very fit but he also enjoys it and gets a decent work out. It also only took me 30 minutes to assemble. Only down side is the computer, not the easiest to use initially. But if you want to get a good work out and not pay a huge amount this bike really does tick the box.

  • Good value but minor problems.

Have delayed writing this review until I had clocked up a few hours on this spin bike. Very quickly a problem occurred in that the brake would squeal and vibrate to the extent that you had to stop peddling. The brake would also get tighter and tighter of its own accord. After trawling the internet to see if anyone else had a similar problem I found that the cure was to spray the spin wheel with silicon lubricant every so often. This resolved the problem completely but it is a pity that the supplier did not make their customers aware of this. Latest problem is that the monitor display has started resetting itself to zero of its own accord.

  • Decent bike

The next best thing to studio standard I use it for Les Mills RPM on demand only one minor fault the saddle slips from time to time good value bike.

  • Spin bike.

Although only a week old, seems to be good quality, especially for the money. The only fault i can find , is its extremely difficult to adjust the handle bar height. Im quite a big bloke and can only just do it. I would imagine it would be impossible for a woman to do it. It may work easier over time, but is a problem. As far as a workout on it, its great. Youll certainly get a good sweat up, and its no different than spin bikes in the gym, so all round a good bike for the money.

  • Excellent value at £135

Once it is set up, it's a great bike especially as it was reduced from £300 to £135. You get a great work out on it - I use it everyday now especially as we're not allowed outside! Very sturdy and is reminiscent of the spin bikes from the gym - better than my gym as this bike has a computer so I can actually see the distance travelled. It's a little fiddly putting together on your own, but fairly straight forward. The seat is a little uncomfortable - but I haven't found a spin bike with a comfy seat so I guess that's normal. Overall, an excellent product and I would highly recommend it
