Rode makes good sturdy products. The NT1 is no exception. I bought this because it has a flatter response than the slightly less expensive NT1A. I do voice overs, so I don't need something that will sweeten vocals. It performs exactly as advertised, giving me a more "complete" sound than my dynamics while staying very true to my natural sound. It was also touted as being less apt to pick up room noise than most other condensers, and I find this to be true. The built-in pop filter and accompanying shock mount are excellent, too. If there is a downside, it is that this is a cardioid-only microphone with no high pass or bass roll-off. If you need omni or figure 8 for two voices or instruments or want to do some equalizing in the mic, forget it.

I have used several microphones in my life. As a singer and voiceover actor I’ve used several types of microphones. I own a podcast and use a Rode podmic for it but then I discovered the NTA-1 this is way better. I love it removes a lot of hissing without me having to do it later on the editing. It’s also perfect for singing, better than my Audio Technica AT-2040. Of course it is not a Neumann or a Telefunken, but it’s perfect for both broadcast, voiceover and singing.

First: I did not get a matched pair, only a single, used mike at a very good price. As for the mike itself: VERY good quality in terms of both the physical mike itself, but also, and of course more importantly, extremely good pickup of sound, and nice, flat response (That is, what this mike puts out is exactly what you were miking.) I do recording on a Boss BR-900CD ministudio (which I also love), then go to a professional studio for remix and mastering. My engineer did not like my previous mike. He WILL like this mike! I love it!
This is an awesome piece of equipment. It does everything you need it to do. It is very sensitive and catches any and all sound. Please remember that you still need an interface to plug it into but those are cheap and easy to find. After getting this, you should never need another recording mic. This well captures the true note you sing or string you pick or key you play.

This Rode NT1-A mic is perfect for recording vocals, guitar, and percussion in my home studio. I use it with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and the sound is unbelievable and clean. Great price for an outstanding mic!

Clear sound, little noise (actually didn't hear any). It compares well with my other mics. I have an AT & a Blue. All great mics.

Bought his product used. Works great and you can definitely hear the highs and mids clearly compared to my shure sm7b(dynamic). I can almost compare it the Neumann tlm102. definitely worth the money. Thank you!
