Great basic vacuum.
I have the same model and it has been great the last 10 years. Since they are no longer available I bought this so I will have a great machine to use on the mats in my dog training room.. It is a basic machine with no fancy do dads and easy to fix and keep running. It uses bags that are not expensive and is fairly light. (14 lbs). A lightweight vac for basic cleaning of carpet or hard floors
I had one of these 25 years ago and really liked it...eventually the wooden bristle bar wore down and couldn't be replaced. This new model is very basic, and not as good quality as my former Panasonic, but for the price I figure I will get several years of use from it. The features I like the most are that it is lightweight to use and carry up stairs. It also goes from carpet to hard floors easily and doesn't just spread the dirt around on hardwood or tile floors. It will suck up small area rugs that aren't held down. One feature I don't like is that the tube that attaches to the vac will pop off unless you twist it on tightly. You also have to purchase bags and drive belts, so that will add to the cost over time. It is also quite noisy. I had several other vacuums over the years, and the more expensive ones were more substantial and heavy and had cups to empty, but they also seemed to break parts on a regular basis, so it's hard to say which is a better deal in the long run.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Light Weight and easy Use

Simple sweeper

Best vacuum I've ever owned, and I've owned many.
I had an older model of this vacuum, and it "died". I was heartbroken, until I found this one. This Panasonic has the features I like. Bag (not bagless). On board tools/attachments. Changes "height" automatically (no turning a knob for hardwoods or carpet). "Lays" almost flat to go under furniture. Has a "headlight" for low light rooms. Great suction power. Lightweight. Pretty good vacuum.
We bought this to replace our old Panasonic which we loved for its performance and reliability. This new one is very similar in style and handles and cleans the same but is noticeably more cheaply made. The beater bar is plastic instead of metal, the compartment is harder to open to change the bag, and there’s an annoying seam on the handle. Still, we were very happy to find it as it works well, the price was reasonable, and we don't like the bulky bagless vacuums. My Favorite
In 1983 I worked for Dayton's in Burnsville MN. We got a shipment of Panasonic vacuums to sell. I was hooked from then on, this is my 5th one so you see how long they last, although I had 2, one for each floor of my house at one time..The old ones would actually end up in the garage for car cleaning when I wanted a new one for the house. , They are powerful, with easy to use tools on board, I can remove and replace the bag easily. I do not like the bagless ones , SO much mess. With regular cleaning of brush and end around filters they work great. HIGHLY recommended.
