This Onkyo receiver is an audio-video home cinema system that ensures high-performance entertainment is delivered from any playback device hooked up to it. With eight HDMI interface inputs and two HDMI outputs, the Onkyo TX-NR709 connects to various TV sets, thereby increasing the available display options twofold. The HDMI in this 7.2-channel receiver can support audio from DTS and Dolby systems with no audio loss, offering 110 watts per channel of surround sound, while the Qdeo technology ensures video upscale from standard definition to high-definition video. The Onkyo TX-NR709 has a USB port on the front panel with a digital link for iPhones and iPods, besides a number of digital and analog inputs that include the S-Video and the 7.1 analog multi-channel inputs. PC audio and Internet radio are also available on this network-capable home cinema system which has bi-amping capability and varying sound filter technology. Audyssey MultEQ XT adjusts the sound field to suit the dimensions of the room. Browsing content and adjusting settings on this Onkyo receiver is effortless as on-screen display and interactive GUI make for easy Web page navigation. This Onkyo receiver weighs 12.2 kg (27 lbs) and measures 43.5 cm wide by 17.4 cm high by 37.9 cm deep (17.1 inches by 6.9 inches by 15.6 inches). This item performs very well and I would recommend. Minor issue with front buttons not always selecting input first time. This amplifier does run quite hot, Onkyo state this as normal.
