things to know about this machine
It is not a standard A/C. It is a heat pump. We have a cinder block office in a warehouse, in south Florida. Yes it gets hot.... With the outside warehouse temperature at 92F the office is a cool 79-80F with the humidity at 47%. This is with 4 florescent lights & 2 computers with printers. You can program it manually but the remote control is far easier. There is no water to drain. Once the temperature is set and reached it turns itself off. Then turns itself on when the heat goes up. It is quiet compared to window A/C units. The fan is about the only thing you hear. If you don't want dead spots ( all rooms have dead spots ) in the room aim an oscillating fan at the apex of the cool air stream so it gets diffused into the room.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Should have spent more money and purchased a Mini Split...
If I don't put it on in the morning when its 74 degrees it wont cool the room down... On high it only brings it down to 80 degrees.....I live 3 miles from the beach in San Diego.. Very big, heavy, loud, takes up a lot of space in my studio (420sf) and doesn't work all that great. If its 85 in the studio it takes a couple of hours to get it down to 80.. Works Great
I've wired my enclosed trailer and installed this AC unit in it. I tested it out by using an extension cord from the house. I ended up blowing a breaker. Be sure to check the amperage that this unit pulls and ensure that your wiring can handle the load. My trailer is rated at 25 amps - and I believe this AC unit draws about 19 amps, which is why is blew the breaker. I had it going through an extension cord and some 12 gauge wire. I would recommend that you use at least 10 gauge or even 8 gauge wire. On the bright side, in the short time I had it plugged in it cooled my 7'X14' enclosed trailer from 96 degrees down to below 80 degrees in just a few minutes. I ran a hose from the unit to the outside for the condensation build up. This is the 2nd portable AC unit I have bought. The first one was from Lowes and I had to dump the condensation tub ever hours or so. I believe this unit to be much better quality and just as easy to use. I like it cold in my house, especially at night when I'm sleeping. This works perfect for my bedroom. I can set it and stay nice and cool while the rest of the family is warm and comfortable.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Portable A/C unit
This A/C unit came a few days early. With that the box looked a little beat up. There was one broken wheel. But...once I contacted the seller a new wheel arrived within days. Other than the wheel and box the unit works like a champ! I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone that does not have central air or a window unit. I do recommend that you have a window for the in and out vent. This unit is perfect for a small to midsize room and if there isn't humidity in the air then it works great in a larger room.
