Yes it's made in China. Remington, why can't you make them here? You have the facilities. That said, it's a great rifle. The trigger is ok, just takes a little getting used to like any other. It has good power, 840 fps (chrony) with 14.3 crosman c.p. First 3 shots from clean, brand new barrel went a little high and right, the next 10 cut 1 ragged hole, with iron sights that were set at factory. 13 yards from a rest. The stock is nice, and solid. This rifle is not very loud. My neighbor says he doesn't hear it. It is not difficult to cock. It hits hard- at 25 yards it sent a squirrel for a flip. Don't spend any more on an air rifle for the back yard or woodlot. I didn't bother with the scope that came with it, I installed a Bushnell AR 22 scope. This rifle so far is extremely accurate, and not broken in yet.
