The Sony MDR-V55 headphones are a set of DJ-style over-the-head headphones with a slim, folding design. The reversible ear-cups allow for single-sided listening. The minimum frequency response of these Sony headphones is a low 5 Hz and the maximum frequency response is 25 kHz. In addition, the impedance is 40 Ohms and the sensitivity is 105 dB. The 40-mm closed type driver unit on these Sony headphones delivers a balanced audio reproduction. Furthermore, the neodymium magnets provide a clear midrange and full bass response in a compact unit. The single-sided connection cord on these over-the-head headphones measures 1.2 m (47.3 inches). In addition, the weight of the unit is 220 g (7.1 oz) without the cord. The connection cord has a flat Y-type design in order to reduce tangling during use. The Sony MDR-V55 headphones use a gold-plated, L-shaped stereo 3.5 mm plug to connect to audio devices. Great earphones
Great sound range. Very comfortable. Able to give other more expensive ones a run for their money. Amazing high quality very solid. They are now my daily driver earphones. They are not noise cancelling but that also means no charging or replacing of batteries. They are ready to go any time. I bought mine for £35.00 and they are as good as many others 10 x the price. Disappointed is an understatement
Ive been DJing with Sony MDR-V700 headphones for years (since 2001) and they have always been in my opinion the best DJ headphones on the market. My last pair of V700s finally gave out a couple of weeks ago so I went on Sony's main website to see what their top spec current equivalent DJ headphone set was, the answer? These V55s, so ordered them with no hesitation. When they arrived I was shocked and horrified. Cheap feeling, poor sound, plastic, light and weak build. The accountants have designed these. The cord doesn't even have a flex so no surprise the plug has now broken off the cord and i am trying to get them repaired. There was also no adaptor from 3.5mm to 6mm. These headphones do not replace the V700 not anywhere near or close. Sony ruled the marked with the V700, SO WHY DISCONTINUE IT!!??? Sony please bring back the V700s before you loose all your customers. I will have to buy the equivalent (V700) grade headphones from from Shure, Stanton or Pioneer now.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality and Value!
These are a great pair of cans. At the price the are available for I don't think you could do better anywhere. I bought my partner a pair of beats at £350 and these are just as enjoyable to listen to. Pure crisp sound even at high volumes right through the range. They do. Headphones provide good sounds.
