Replace the seal not the compressor.
One third the price of the same brand part at the local auto parts store, and they would have to order it. Compressor had been replaced before so had less miles than the vehicle so replacing the seal was much more economical than replacing the compressor. You do need a seal protector when installing it.

The compressor seal fit my 3500 Express....
The compressor seal fit my 3500 Express. You do need a special tool to stretch it over the shaft. The tool from my old A6 set worked perfectly.
