This is one of the first CD's I have bought in years. (I am so tired of iTunes and digital music that is easily lost.) I really enjoy everything about this CD, from the music, box art and liner notes it was well worth the money. The way the box unfolds there is a lot of nice artwork and the disc itself looks really cool. My only worry is I have to be gentle with the cardstock to avoid getting bends or marks on the corners of the box.
I really like Nile's style of metal, they have an ancient Egyptian theme with guitar that sounds as you would imagine Egyptian heavy metal to sound. The drumming is amazingly precise and fits with the rest of the instruments well. You can hear this even more clear in the instrumental tracks included with the digipak.
What is really cool is that a lot of the mythology is well researched and a lot of it comes from the Egyptian book of the dead. The text on the booklet is a little tricky to read because of the small print but it speaks about a lot of the effort that went into writing the lyrics in addition to the lyrics themselves.
Another excellent release from Nile. Favorites are "Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame" and "Tribunal of the Dead". Egyptian themed technical death metal at it's best.
