The Best All-Around Winter Commuter Tire!
Hakkas are the best of the best! Not much more to say there! I'd recommend them to anyone riding in adverse weather (I'm from the Northeast U.S. so we get all types of mixed bag weather).
I actually find the lack of center studs to be a good thing. I want these tires to ride on pavement without too much stud interference (I am a commuter), but I still want those side studs to grab the ice and snow when they need to. This is a great balance, just not recommended for heavy, ridiculous snow.
Pros:
•Incredibly grippy on pavement, wet grass, and slick ice! Have not tried in snow yet, but I imagine they'll be better than any other tires I've used.
•Superbly durable. While punctures can still happen, I don't have to worry much about that or general longevity.
•Weight... for a studded winter tire of this size, 935g per tire isn't so bad.
Cons:
•The 40mm tire definitely measures at 35mm.
•No reflective sidewall. Not so much a con, just could be an added perk for some riders.
