Stella Glow has an interesting development story behind it. It was developed by Imageepoch (a developer best known for JRPGS on the DS like Luminous Arc), however, whilst this game was finishing development, Imageepoch filed for bankruptcy, and the publisher of the game, Sega acquired the rights to Stella Glow. What's even more interesting is that Atlus USA localised the game it as opposed to Sega of America (which is unusual because Atlus owns Sega, yet it was published by Sega in Japan). Anyway, I digress. This is a fantastic game. Fantastic dubbing by Atlus USA as usual, the characters are enjoyable and entertaining beyond the amine archetypes, each party member has a distinctive character trait, wonderful artstyle, and the blend of visual novel and tactial role playing prevents the game from being too monotonous. If I had to nitpick about this, and it's a fairly noticeable nitpick, it's that you can tell that the production value was low even for a 3DS game. A lot of enemies are exactly the same just with re-coloured models, and some of the textures are really underwhelming for a 3DS game. Aside from that, this is a must buy. I hope that Sega and Atlus maximise the Stella Glow intellectual property because it has absolutely fantastic franchising opportunities.
