Not Impressed for Toilet Repair
Having read the reviews on this product I was expecting great things. Sadly, it was not to be!
Some of the reviews I had read suggested that this product blended perfectly and it does not. Bear in mind, that white comes in many shades. Porcelain comes in different qualities and a porcelain ornament with a white base is not the same as a toilet with a grey base.
I did expect that the touch up would be more of a glaze than a paint. But it does not seem to be.
The chip in my toilet was caused when trying to remove a very seized toilet seat. So, I had hoped to be able to blend the touch up better than it turned out. The shade of my toilet has more translucence to the finish and this touch up is most definitely opague. I would think that it would work better with China or porcelain ornaments with a white base and not so much with toilets - other than very expensive pure porcelain ones.
Also, being a dense paint for the purpose of filling small chips and cracks, this makes it tricky to blend and sand using the wet and dry paper that comes with it. Wet and dry is a very fine finishing paper and against this thick paint, it can cause the paint to break up and come away as you work on it. Even after 2 days drying, I found this happening. I suspect that because it is so heavy, it may be better to start with a slightly heavier sandpaper to get you level then work onto the wet and dry.
All in all, it is an expensive product compared to others on here that can be pruchased and I would bear that in mind before buying.
It is not a miracle worker!
