Product Information
After Chester 'Ace' Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) is released from prison, he starts mixing with his long-time friend and driver Gus (Debbis Farina). Ace soon discovers that Gus has become the owner of a promising racehorse called Pint of Plain and gets him into the world of horse racing. Ace starts to make plans about how he can get hold of the racetrack while planning revenge against those he blames for his incarceration. Despite LUCK being renewed for a second series, the production was cancelled during the first series after three horses died. ReviewsUSA Today - As you'd expect from HBO, it's beautifully shot and reeks of authenticity., San Francisco Chronicle - Among the challenges of "LUCK" is that Milch steadfastly avoids making major characters either distinctly likable or villainous. You can't really see Ace as a bad guy, any more than you feel unalloyed warmth toward the young female jockey or the lonely track veterinarian.
