I have a VW Shuttle 2.5 that's now covered over 200,000 miles and still going strong ! However it started popping back through the air filter and was diagnosed as a worn camshaft / bucket (apparently they are common between 170.000 & 200.000 miles on this model). Garage priced at £1200 to fix so decided to have a go myself. This was the cheapest tool on the market that I could find so decided to go for it. It is good quality and does everything you need to do when replacing the camshaft, however there are a two slight things to be aware of. The screw for holding the silver crankshaft alignment tool just reaches the crankshaft threads, and the black screw in the crankshaft locating arm isn't long enough to reach the treads when the arm is located (I improvised with slightly longer bolts (around 10mm longer) when using both tools. Job done and completed for £450.00 total and that was for Tool Kit, camshaft kit and new stretch bolts. p.s. don't risk doing this job without this special tool !!Read full review
