Good value, easy to set up and use, lots of data display options
This Garmin Edge 500 has been round several years now but it works well and is easy to use. Lots of different screen options which you get can set to suit your personal needs (eg time of day, heart rate, average speed, time moving, elevation, cadence etc etc - you can put anywhere between one and five fields on a screen - I chose just one or two per page so I can see the data easily - and the pages are easy to scroll through while on the move, even with fingered gloves on. I have mine linked to a cadence sensor and heart rate strap. I use the garmin nearly daily for a mix of training and social/commute rides. With heavy use on the bike and downloading onto Strava most days, after a couple of years the port protector on the back gets damaged / damp gets in and uploading to computer with USB cable becomes iffy and eventually fails - so Im on my third 500 in 6 years. Hence only 4 stars. But for the heavily discounted price you can get them for now (I just paid £51.30) they are well worth it. You can also download routes onto the garmin before you set off and follow simple arrows (no proper maps on this Garmin) but I don't use this feature.
