Elegant performer
This player sounds great with CD (connected analog and coax) and amazing with SACD. The internal DAC outperforms my preamp's built in DAC. The Yamaha CD-S1000 has the build of an Abrams tank with the finesse of a Bentley. Playing thru a Parasound A23+ and P6 combination with Martin Logan ESLs. SACD is superior to streaming thru Quobuz and CD seems to match it. My only complaint is it's size. It dwarfs my amplifier and hangs off both the front and back of my audio rack. Smooth and balanced
A quality made piece. This unit reproduces the audio info in a very balanced way across the sound spectrum. Very warm sounding. SACDs, as one would expect, shine with the greater information giving weight to the reproduction and detail is improved as well. Excellent sound +++
Finally got a chance to fire this item up and listen to some music. Had to wait for the new speakers and get everything wired up, but the wait was worth it. This is one solid CD player and worth every penny IMHO. I've been turning off the TV and revisiting my collection of CDs - and what a difference a quality machine can make. I prefer Yamaha A/V equipment and have had that brand for over 30 years and I've never been disappointed. A big (YUGE, infact) 'thumbs up' on this player!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Serious piece of equipment.
