Solaris 11
This is a sizeable book from Oracle (the company that owns Solaris) and is very detailed giving step by step information right from installation of this best known, stable Unix operating system through to the admin involved in running it. Excellent BUT - Oracle has just made an announcement that it is no longer continuing with Solaris and has sacked all it's Solaris workforce !!! That is quite a blow for the most stable operating system on the market which was poised to take over a substantial chunk of the business market who are repelled by "Windows 10" and big brother Microsoft checking and aproving all actions online before you can use your own computer for what YOU wish ! Solaris will be continued by the illumos fork (which was forked off Solaris 10 so is a little behind) meanwhile Solaris 11.3 is still current and works a treat !Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
