Cheap and chearful, you gets what you paid for

For < £5, I think these are "reasonable". Checked tolerance against a high quality stainless steel set that I also own, and they're pretty close, I tend to agree about +or- 0.2mm accuracy. They are NOT carbon fibre as advertised but made of high density plastic! DOWNSIDES: Turns itself on with the slight movement. No case (I made my own makeshift case - see pics. You need to zero the calipers "regularly", + I suggest taking 2 measurements each time you measure. DON'T use them where "extreme" high tolerance is "important". PROS: Cheap to buy. Good for working with something you don't want to scratch like e.g. watches and jewellery. Quick reading nice big digital display. Handy lightweight.

  • Most critical review

    Cheap and cheerful

It's not a bad caliper for the price,as it's mainly plastic I didn't like how the slightest touch switched it on, I almost get the sense that there isn't enough weight in it for the sliding bevel to stay in situ. It is ok for the price, but as it's my first one, I know next time to spend a little more and purchase a metal one with more robust features.

  • lightweight caliper

I bought this to use on my guitar making, its perfect for this , its accurate enough for wood, very lightweight being made from carbon fibre . It switches on as soon as you start to measure with it, has all the features of an expensive one, measures in mm and inches , great as i work in both !! great value too . well worth it for under £5 .

  • good value for money

Good value for money. Not stainless steel, just plastic largely, so a bit flexible and won't be too durable, use with extra care. Want a more robust product, go for the more expensive stainless types.

  • good product, well pleased.

I was surprised that the product is as accurate as it is. The display is easy to read and shuts down when not in use, saving the battery. All round a good little tool and very good value for money.

  • Battery Life ??

Too early to tell if it will last but so far would appear to br very good. On the Con side, bettery life could easily be compromised, as if you turn the power off, but then accidently move the slider, the power comes back on, if you have now put it away for any length of time the result the next time you use it, is a flat battery.

  • Does the job at a budget price

This works. Nicely designed item which works as expected, however whilst it may appear to be metal it's in fact made from a high density plastic. So be warned it's key component a thin central rule can be broken if not handled with care. Otherwise its features metric or imperial measurements on a digital display. With a button to change modes. You can also recalibrate zero by pressing a button.

  • Great-(unless you make surgical equipment)

These calipers are absolutely incredible for the price. Being made of plastic a few suspicions of accuracy being a bit off may arise but they are very accurate to the nearest decimal point of a mm (0.0mm-minimum length). These also measure in inches too (not that I use inches). For 3d design these a must have and if you’re on a low budget like me (secondary student) and have no great income these are a life saver. If you do have the extra money then a pair of stainless steel calipers would be more ideal. Delivery time was fast also.

  • Accurate, easy to use, ideal

Wanted a heap and cheerful and importantly accurate meaaure. These fit tge bill Made of plastic so diy/occasional use but given the price not an issue. Quality plastic, easy to read display and simple buttons for on/off and to zero them. Reccommend.

  • Fine for home use, probably too fragile for professionals

It's an amazingly cheap digital caliper which appears to be made of plastic. The sticker on the back says "carbon fibre", but I'm not convinced. For home use, I think this will be fine. If I wanted a calpier for a busy workshop, I would look for something more durable. For less than £5, this is amazing value and for home use I recommend it.
