  • Lovely lady- Lovely Book!

Having just read her original 3 books. I was keen to get the last one- it certainly doesn’t disappoint! Just passed first 3 to my sister & am reading this last one myself. This book gives a priveledged view into the war, post war and 50s world I grew up in but was too little to understand; in fact children weren’t allowed to know things- not allowed to read newspapers always and certainly not involved in the world of adult conversations. This book opens those worlds which, as an adult, I can now relate to my early memories and family stories and make sense of things otherwise shrouded in secrecy and mystery. These books have allowed me to make sense of events , hopes, fears and reality through Nella ‘s very open and honest writing. I’m truly grateful to Nella and her family fit being so open. This book has been cathartic fir me.
