Great Value. Better Than Expected
I have been surfing for over 35 years and I am familiar with all brands of racks. While looking for other brands I found these. I didn’t want any that would wrap around rain gutter and rest on my car’s roof. These actually fit into factory slots and don’t rest on roof. Very easy to install. I was concerned because my Mini is 12 years old. Every thing installed without a problem. More secure than other top name brands that I have had. it produces noise

Not a BMW Quality Product
I’ve installed roof racks on my BMW 335 that install in minutes. Installing these racks on my 2010 Mini Copper, R56, was a five hour installation. There are a number of problems with these racks, the primary problem being that they don’t fit. The R56 has a pocket under the roof rail where the roof rack foot is inserted. Tighten the screw on the roof rack foot with the supplied torque wrench and the installation is complete. Unless the roof rack foot is too large for the pocket, in which case you have two alternatives, return the racks or machine the four feet - on foot per corner - to make them fit. If you’re patient, mechanically inclined, have the equipment and time, you can do this. If not, pay a dealer to install these.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Mini Cooper R56 Rf Rack
This is just what you need for those weekend getaways, biking, kayaking or even that trip to IKEA. If you are Leary of the limited space inside your Mini, just look to this roof rack system to help your fears. Less than 30 minutes to install (search web for video first, makes it easier to understand instructions). Solid as a rock, and actually looks kind of cool, for a roof rack that is. It can be a little tricky in first install, but just loosen the two allen bolts on the underside to get your second side in as you need to set the "foot width" that way. Though accessories are a little pricey, that can be expected with the Mini name attached, but many aftermarket products will work with this rack. I heard this is made for Mini by Thule but can't confirm. Anyhow, you can't go wrong. Best $182 I spent so far on my Mini.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Rack 'em Up
The roof rack base system is OK. It is an original Mini piece of equipment. The attachment locations, made on the car at the factory are goofy; too far forward and not far enough apart. The ease of installation, well, there is no ease of installation. I watched the Mini-made video of a service tech installing a rack and I understood the theory. The rack mechanism is well engineered but I had to spend a few hundred dollars and waste 1/2 a day having a Mini dealer service center install mine. Surfs up!
The shipping box was a little beat up but everything was perfect inside. These are the roof racks designed and created by Mini and look really nice on my Mini. I had 3 surfboards strapped on and hit the beach the same day.
