Good quality item thats easy to fit and vastly improves the clutch action
I ordered this for my Ducati 1199 as the standard slave cylinder was leaking and causing all kinds of clutch issues.....not what you'd expect from Ducati considering the prices these bike cost. The Oberon slave cylinder came recommended by other Ducati owners and is considerably cheaper than the equivelant CNC and Ducati Performance items. The quality of the item is very good and comes with all the parts required for fitting including 3 x longer Allen bolts, 2 x copper washers and instructions on fitment. I was told earlier versions of this required a part off the OEM slave cylinder to fit but this is no longer the case. Fitting was easy, and the instructions very clear. Bleeding the system after was a pig! Not the fault of the Oberon item so much as Ducati's design of the hydraulic clutch system. I had to buy a vacuum bleeder to complete the installation and would recommend anyone fitting this unit buy one prior to fitment (circa £16 on ebay for a cheap vacuum bleeder) and save yourself a frustrating few hours (yes, hours!) Once fitted and bled through, I found the clutch to have a much nicer and lighter action. Finding neutral first time now rather than jumping between first and second gear hoping it pops in, and now fully disengages the clutch so when you select first from neutral it doesn't lurch forward anymore. I'm very happy with this part and is a vast improvement over Ducati's OEM part....which went in the bin where it deserves to be
