Good little computer
I purchased the unit for the internals for my old computer, but it is in such good shape that I swapped the internals from my old unit and used this one instead. Although Windows XP is no longer supported, the Inspiron 2200 is without a doubt the best laptop I have ever owned. It is durable, reasonably lightweight for its age, and does what is asked every time without fail. If you do not need a super fast computer for gaming or design, and just need a computer for basic document handling with low memory requirements, this is the computer for you. The memory is not large, after all it was brought to market in the late 1900s. But, as I mentioned before it is super reliable, durable, and open and run easy to use. The one down side is the battery. Yes they are old nickel cadmium batteries and don't last as long as the newer ones, but I only use to run music programs and it is plugged in so, for me that is really not a big issue. The only other issue is the little bulb that back-light the screens. Most computers from this era have similar issues, but it is a noteworthy complaint. However, if you are savvy the bulbs are easy to replace.
