Really long time ago wanted to buy a Cisco 7970 but the price was really high. Now these phone is over it’s life time so easy to buy. This phone as all unified series from Cisco originally not made for home use but the Sip firmware you can get more chance to use it. But most of nice future is only possible if you using it with it’s original protocol (sccp) and the Cisco special call manager software. The programming is not really easy without call manager software, need some xml experience and IT knowledge as well(TFTP DNS ), so this phone is not made for basic users. But the phone is really well made massive and elegant, still looks really good on the desk. Today’s IP phones looks like some child’s game and/or some cheap China made plastic things.
