Heavy and very effective bacon press
Well made bacon press that fits perfectly in a medium sized frying pan and covers three rashers of back bacon. I was concerned that it might damage the pan"s non stick coating but, providing you are careful, the press rests on top of the bacon and doesn't come into contact with the pan at all. As an unexpected bonus, the press significantly reduces splatter. The reason I bought the press was to ensure that EVERY part of the bacon comes into contact with the cooking surface. When bacon curls, this is not always the case. Given that a significant percentage of pork is infected with Hepatitis E, I am always very careful to make sure that it is thoroughly cooked, which should kill the virus.
