When you seek a smooth shifting device, look to Shimano's Tourney TY500 rear derailleur. It has a 43-chain link capacity with a long cage length and minimum sprocket cog sized 11 (maximum 34). This derailleur is designed to accommodate the Shimano Mountain Bike with 6- or 7-speed drive trains. Its cable head and cable guide pulley design create a smooth shifting experience. The lightweight design is achieved with resin construction on the bracket. Screws are zinc-plated to add overall longevity.

Great Buy - Very rugged
The Shimano Tourney is a rally nice, rugged Derailleur for the 3 x 7 drive train on an old 21 speed MTB I used it for, I was more than impressed. Its inexpensive, rugged, and sets up easy as pie. Would seriously recommend.

Low end but great performance!

It actually shifts very well once you get it dialed in. It does not shift very fast though. It's far better than the one that came on the bike originally...

Low Budget Upgrade
